I was born and raised in Kinston, NC. It is approximately an hour and a half east of Raleigh. Growing up, I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. Teaching is a part of my family. My mother was a teacher and then a Beginning Teacher Development Coordinator in Lenoir County, my grandmother started a preschool in Kinston, my brother is a high school language arts teacher, and his wife is a high school guidance counselor. I enjoyed growing up in such a small town and loved the strong sense of community. I hope to create the same classroom community for your child as I had growing up.
education
I attended North Carolina State University. Go pack! (Although, I am secretly a UNC fan! 🤫) I graduated with a degree in Communication. Shortly after receiving my BA, I decided to go back to NC State to receive my Masters in Teaching.
hobbies
I enjoy traveling and going to the mountains and the beach. I love to read (listen to podcasts,) spend time with family and friends, listen to music, volunteer, and exercise when I'm not chasing around a soon-to-be crawler.☺️
